Inspired by Marsha P. Johnson, an activist and beloved figure in New York’s LGBTQ+ community who became deeply involved in the gay liberation movement following Stonewall. Alongside Sylvia Rivera, she co-founded STAR to provide support and shelter for vulnerable queer and trans youth, and she continued advocating for her community throughout her life.
